    The quality of the tennis of that match was awful by any standard. I'm afraid that BJK is delusional; she was a terrific champion but was wrong about Riggs not having organized crime contacts and she had no idea if he was or was not tanking. We'll likely never know for certain what happened, but there certainly is a lot of evidence pointing to Riggs having thrown the match. What we certainly do know is that Riggs completely embarrassed Margaret Court, destroying her in straight sets. How the number one woman in the world could have lost so badly to a 55 year old has been is absurd and humiliating.

  • @Charles-lz2tz
    @Charles-lz2tz Месяц назад

    Riggs was a gambler and needed to get some people paid off. So he rigged the match and walked out of the limelight with a barrell of cash and gave king the win in exchange for the biggest rigg of all. crazy but seems obvious if you cant tell he is missing shot after shot on purpose. so obvious. Or he is bipolar

  • @Charles-lz2tz
    @Charles-lz2tz Месяц назад

    I am a former tournament player 5.0 and above in prime . I would better every penny that he rigged the match. hence the name bobby riggs.

  • @Charles-lz2tz
    @Charles-lz2tz Месяц назад

    He tanked. He knows he played horribly i mean atrocious. look at the shots he missed. a 4.0 level player would not miss the shots he missed. And what serve. he doubled on match point . In the court match he dominates and then loses horrible to king. Makes me ill how bad he played against king. It was two totally different agendas for riggs . He bet on himself to beat court and bet on self to lose to king. I mean you have to be blind to think there is not foul play or a throw. Imagine the odds. He beats court 62 61. then loses to king and court was number 1. come on biggest fix of his life.

  • @Charles-lz2tz
    @Charles-lz2tz Месяц назад

    He definitely played horrible in that match I did stats. I mean he either threw the match or he was sick as a dog. because the riggs that beat court was focused and on point. in the billie match he tanked big time. i mean it was so obvious that Billie even knows that riggs played the worst he could play. some of the misses were so obvious that if you play tennis that something is amiss. I can see in the two matches that bobby threw the match.

    Most people don't know that the sports betting industry in the 1970s was 100% CONTROLLED BY THE MOB. All the Vegas Casinos and the Sports Books were run by the Mob and all of the illegal bookmaking operations throughout the nation were controlled by the Mob as well. The Riggs-King match was one of the most anticipated and heavily bet sports matches in history at the time. Even people who didn't normally bet on sports events bet on this one. And the Mob posted Riggs as the heavy favorite, taking advantage of the fact that Riggs easily beat Margaret Court in an earlier match. Even as a heavy favorite, the money poured in on Riggs as a "can't miss" game. But from the Mob perspective, it was easy money if Riggs lost. And Riggs was always in debt to the Mob from his Casino gambling. So, I'll ask you. What would you do if you were Bobby Riggs? Would you defeat Billie Jean King and cause the Mob to lose tens of millions of dollars? Or would you throw the match, make the Mob very happy and also get yourself 100% out of debt and earn a nice payday to boot? I rest my case.

    Riggs thrashed Court and was thrashed by King. Yet Court beat King twice as often as King beat court. Riggs had a gambling need. Of course he threw it. Watch the game.

    I knew of a Chicago bookie, Sonny S., he got out and retired just a few weeks after this famous match, a friend of his told me that Sonny's ship had come in. He ended up buying nice place in Florida near Jupiter Beach on the river (he even invited my down and took me out fishing), and a beautiful home in Wisconsin. The last time I saw him some years ago, it looked like a good wind would blow him away, but he had a good looking live in nurse and he still was as tough talking as ever, he was quite the character.

    BJK was good at tennis. BJK was even better at being a dupe. We all have the tendency to think that just because you are really good at something means you are really smart. Skills and strengths do not crossover. We give BJK the benefit of the doubt, because she was really good at tennis. That doesn't mean she wasn't a tool in the hand of a con man. I have an IQ between 140-143. I am an accomplished public speaker. I have played chess for 2 years and am no better than I started. I suck. I'm an idiot. I took a class and it didn't help. My point is just because you are good at a sport doesn't mean that you aren't a dupe. Riggs was good at tennis and a clever actor, but man I wouldn't trust him with my car keys.
